COGECO Campus in Trois-Rivières
The aim of this project was to centralize the activities of the telecommunications and media company Cogeco within one building, becoming a showcase for the company. COHESIO Architecture conducted the design and implementation of the campus’ master plan comprising: site planning (traffic and parking) and the implementation/design of an office building with a control room and a warehouse. Those extensions are connected to an existing building by a walkway converted as a cafeteria.

Located in the heart of the Saint-Laurent Technoparc, the new Cologix MTL8 21 MW hyperscale Data centre, designed by COHESIO Architecture, represents a new generation of high-performance and sustainable digital infrastructure. The project illustrates how technological performance and environmental responsibility can be combined within a contemporary architectural approach.
Deployed across 350,000 sq.ft. and distributed over two levels, the hyperscale facility offers an IT capacity of approximately 16 MW for hyperscale cloud computing, meeting the requirements of the most critical technological operations. Designed according to Tier III standards, the building ensures uninterrupted maintainability through optimized resources, reliable redundancy and modularity. Electrical infrastructures include high-capacity UPS systems, redundant generators and secure distribution networks. Modular closed-loop rooftop cooling systems allow for the progressive expansion of capacity according to tenant occupancy, ensuring performance, resilience and energy efficiency.
Behind its technological robustness, the architecture seeks to humanize the infrastructure. Façades articulated by linear openings, acoustic louvers and a green roof express a clear intention to integrate the building into its environment. The landscape, punctuated by carefully selected plantings, contributes to biodiversity and enhances the quality of the site.
It is the first data centre in Canada to achieve LEED® Core and Shell Gold certification, a major recognition highlighting the excellence of its environmental design. This certification reflects a strong commitment to reducing carbon footprint, optimizing energy performance, responsible water management and integrating sustainable practices throughout all stages of the project, establishing a new benchmark for data centre innovation in Montréal.
