At 1250 René-Lévesque, COHESIO Architecture transformed the fifth floor and its roof into a modern and discreet data centre. The modernization of the building's infrastructure aims to support operational performance and strengthen the energy resilience of one of Montréal's most emblematic office towers.
Deployed in three phases, the project included the installation of new high-capacity emergency generators, the relocation of existing equipment, and the creation of a rooftop mechanical room integrating high-performance air conditioning systems. These interventions were carried out in an occupied building and on critical infrastructure operating continuously. Meticulous planning and seamless coordination were required to avoid any service interruption. To integrate these systems into the building and the urban landscape, custom acoustic and visual screens were designed. Their aluminum finish, harmonized with the façade, and their louvred texture echoing the architectural details of the building, conceal the installations while enhancing the rhythm and elegance of the structure.
