Hôpital Notre-Dame - Pavillon JA de Sève

Transformation of laboratories into office space

The Pavilon JA de Sève transformation project began with a feasibility study to assess the possibility of transforming the former research laboratories, relocated to the new CHUM, into office space for the Direction régionale de santé publique de Montreal.

COHESIO Architecture, in collaboration with engineers and a specialist regulatory consultant, carried out a "High Level" study of two pavilions at Hôpital Notre- Dame.

The conversion of the J.A.-De Sève pavilion involved a zoning change to bring the building into line with its new use, as well as compliance with universal accessibility and exit requirements.

The new office space was delivered to the customer in 2021, despite the impact of the pandemic on the construction site. The aim was to speed up the two-phase construction process, involving demolition and construction.
